When we began building OurRoots.Africa, we made a promise — to create a heritage travel platform with real depth, real integrity, and a genuine commitment to your personal journey home.
Part of that commitment is honesty. And today, we owe you an honest update.
Why We Delayed the Launch of Our Heritage Travel Platform
We had planned to launch the full OurRoots.Africa heritage travel platform this March.
During our final pre-launch audits, however, we identified a critical gap. The seamless experience you see on the frontend — the Travel DNA Quiz, the 6-Stage Journey, the Amen AI guide — was not yet communicating properly with the intelligent backend engine designed to power it.
We were faced with a clear choice: launch a product that looked ready, or delay and build it right.
We chose integrity over speed.
What We Are Building — and Why It Matters
OurRoots.Africa is not just a travel website. It is a heritage travel platform designed to guide you through one of the most meaningful journeys of your life — the journey home to Africa.
We believe the journey home begins long before a flight is booked. It begins within.
That is why our platform is built around six stages of preparation — starting with Emotional Preparation and ending with Integration and Reflection. Each stage is personalised to your story, your DNA results, and your unique heritage. Our AI companion, Amen, walks with you every step of the way.
This kind of depth takes time to build properly. And it is worth every moment.
What Happens Next
We now have a detailed, milestone-based technical plan in place. Our team is focused. The path is clear. And our commitment to you is stronger than ever.
We are not announcing a new launch date today — because we will only launch when the platform is truly ready to deliver on its promise. When we do, it will be exceptional, we believe. That said, we do NOT think it will take more than 2 months from today.
