1. Sipi Falls
The Sipi Falls are located in Kapchorwa right next to Mountain Elgon National Park in Eaternern Uganda. By the way, did you know that Sipi Falls was named after a wild banana plant that grows nearby? This is also one of the best places to visit while in Uganda for breathtaking views and a good splash of water.
Sipi Falls is a collection of 3 falls dotted in the Kapchworwa region all of which are on the border of Mt. Elgon National Park each flowing at a different altitude.
There’s more – you can also go hiking up the Sipi Falls for the spectacular views of Lake Kyoga, the Karamoja lowlands, or the coffee plantations in that area, and take some amazing shots.

This park, and its surroundings, together form the Murchison Falls Conservation Area (MFCA). Furthermore, MFCA also has a variety of wildlife such as Uganda cob, bushbacks, elephants, giraffes, etc. Here’s the fun part – you can also spot a few hippopotamuses and crocodiles along the shores of the River Nile.

3. Aruu Falls
Aruu Falls are located in Pader District, Northern Uganda approximately 386 Km from Kampala town. This is yet another destination you must never miss while visiting Uganda.
These cascading roaring waterfalls offer an unforgettable and adventurous experience. By the way, did you know that Aruu Falls flow down the rocks in a snake-like movement?
You could also take a bath under the falls, and trust us, they will leave you mesmerized. It’s kind of a God-given shower tube bath, and a must-try while in Uganda. As for accommodation, there is the Aruu campsite where you’ll experience the true African wilderness.
4. Wanale Ridge
Here is another waterfall in eastern Uganda waiting to be discovered. Wanale Ridge waterfalls are located approximately 6 kilometres from Mbale town. Oh, and they aren’t far from Sipi Falls.
Since these waterfalls are very high, you can catch a glimpse of these beautiful waterfalls as long as you’re within Mbale town.
Fun fact – It is believed that Wanale Falls was named after one of Masaba’s sons, a patriarch of the Bagisu tribe from Mbale, Uganda.
You can choose to go hiking on the mountain, or maybe visit Khaukha, one of the oldest caves in this region.
5. Itanda Falls
Itanda Falls on the Nile River is another must-visit hidden treasure. So, are you an adventure seeker? If yes, Itanda Falls in Jinja should be on your next itinerary.
