Are you planning to travel in 2025 and wondering what equipment to purchase? Then read on, as this list constitutes the best travel equipment for 2025. Of course, “best” is relative; however, I focus on quality (output), portability, and durability.
1. DJI Osmo Pocket 3
This is probably the best selling vlogging camera in the world right now. Easy to use, portable and of high quality, the Pocket 3 debuted in late 2023 and I bought mine shortly after from JB Hi Fi at an affordable price of $1,137.99 (DJI Osmo Pocket 3 4K 3 Axis Gimbal Camera Combo).
I have taken the Pocket 3 to Korea, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, and it has not disappointed.
One day as I jogged in Kumamoto, it fell off from my pocket but it did not break.
Besides videography, the Pocket 3 can take amazing photos. To get the best result you must shoot manual and colour grade.
2. DJI Air 3s
The DJI Air 3S Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2) came out late last year dubbed the best travel drone. The word “travel” caught my attention and I immediately ordered one from JB Hi-Fi at a steep price of $2,307.99
My third drone in two years, the DJI Air 3s is an amazing videography and photography drone.
I recently took it out to Hoi An, Hue and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam and the footage is crisp and beautiful.
Most importantly, unlike the DJI Neo, my second drone, the DJI Air 3s can avoid obstacles and is great for beginners and professionals alike.
3. Fujifilm X-M5
The Fujifilm X-M5 Mirrorless Camera with XC 15-45mm Lens (Black) came out late last year and immediately captured my attention.
Small, easy to use and great in low light situations and at an affordable price of $1,658.99, the Fujifilm X-M5 is an amazing camera to have on your next travel adventure.
I recently used it to capture stunning images in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Vietnam, and for Amen’s photoshoot.
The camera is the second I have fallen in love with after the Nikon D90 which I bought in 2009 and used extensively in Southeast Asia, USA, Africa and Australia; I recently donated it to my nephew, having kept it for over 10 years.
In 2019 as I passed through Dubai International Airport on my way back to Australia, I spotted the Nikon D750, a highly reviewed camera.
I bought one shortly after however, I never loved the camera as it is heavy and the photos didn’t look that sharp (my poor photography skills).

4. Galaxy s 23 Ultra
I had the Galaxy s 20 for about 2 years. Then when the Galaxy s 23 ultra came out I upgraded . The Galaxy s 23 ultra takes amazing photos as can be seen from the above.
However, if I were you, I would go for the Galaxy s 25 Ultra. Online reviews indicate the videos and photos are better than Apple 16 Pro Max.
5. Macbook Pro 2023
Apple released the MacBook Pro 14″ M3 8-Core CPU 10-Core GPU 8GB/1TB Space Grey in late 2023.
At the time, I was struggling with a Microsoft Surface Go which could not handle 4K videos.
Although I hated Apple products and had never owned any, I made the hard decision to order the MacBook Pro from Office Works at a steep price of $2,930.95.
Small as it looks, this computer does not disappoint and can handle high quality 4K videos. I mainly use it to edit my videos and blog.
