KQ Resumes Flights to London
Good news, travellers: Kenya Airways (KQ) is set to resume its direct flights to London Heathrow Airport come June 26th 2025 after a new two-month hiatus.
The announcement came after the Kenyan government lifted its suspension to and from the UK. This move marks a step forward in connecting the two nations. While sharing his excitement about the move, Julius Thairu, KQ’s acting Chief Commercial and customer officer, said:

New Rules of Flying Between Kenya and the UK
If you are flying to the UK, there are a few protocols you adhere to to avoid any inconveniences. Some of them include:
- You must be a British or Irish Citizen or have an official UK residency.
- A Negative COVID-19 test taken three days before travel.
If you have been in a red-list country within 10 days, you’ll need to:
- Book a quarantine hotel package 14 days in advance.
- Take two additional COVID-19 tests during quarantine.
If you’re visiting Kenya from the UK? Here is what you need to know:
- Bring a negative PCR test taken within 96 hours of arrival (kids under five are exempt).
- Be ready to isolate for seven days, and take a follow-up PCR test on Day 4.
- Submit daily health updates, including your Day 4 test results, on the Ministry of Health’s Jitenge Platform for 14 days.
